So much for a normal childhood. On top of a very public custody case and tabloid pictures of their mom either half-naked, drunk, or flaking on stage, Britney’s kids now have to contend with bodyguards.

But maybe, for the first time, Britney’s actually doing something for her kids. She’s calling for security measures after certain “aggressive actions by individuals” (i.e., paparazzi) have “blocked her access” whenever she goes out, especially when she’s with the toddlers.

Sounds like an extreme step, but definitely safer than speeding while they’re in the backseat (the judge wasn’t too happy about that).

While the details are blurry, Britney has said that she hopes the measures are temporary. In a rare flash of foresight she has also declined to comment on the custody battle, the media attention will eventually subside and her kids can have some semblance of “health and well being”.
