Amy Winehouse’s mother is very, very scared for her daughter’s safety — and desperate enough to write a public letter begging her to come home. “All you have to do is come to us, Amy, and we’ll do everything in our power to get you well again,” says Janis Winehouse.
Janis, like the rest of the world, has been reading alarming reports of Amy wandering London in just a bra and jeans, flashing photographers, and snorting volumes of cocaine.
She asked the singer to “just pick up the phone” and said there was no shame in asking for help — 6 Grammy nominations did not make her any less vulnerable. “Remember you’re just an ordinary human being, no stronger than any of the rest of us.”
The heartfelt, beautifully written letter is full of the love (and worry) of a mom who just wants her child to be happy again. “After all, you are still my baby and you always will be.”
